On resumption at the facility, I have brief chat with the security personnel, and also with the facility team. I attend to work requests from the facility occupants and assign duties to facility staff and services that can not be handled in-house are contracted out. I also oversee all the facility maintenance activities.
As an on-site facility manager, I do a walking around inspection from time to time to ensure all assets and equipment are functioning adequately. With my checklist, I look out for functionality, defects and errors. All daily activities are documented.
The facilities I inspect include the following
- CCTV
- Energy meter
- Power generating set
- Water Treatment Plant: water pumps, water filter, aeration and storage tanks
- Sewage Treatment Plant
- Electric fence
- Building fabrics: walls, facade, windows, perimeter fence, roof gutter
- Roller shutter
- Outdoor units of the air conditioners
- Landscape garden
- Parking area
- Fire and life safety equipment
- Swimming pool
- Gymnasium
- Sauna
- Cleaning
- Waste management
- Plumbing fixtures
