The Master in Facilities Management (MFM) program in the University of Lagos (UNILAG) is the first of its kind in Nigeria is thought as a professional master. The program commenced in 2006 at the instance of Nigeria Chapter of International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
The course is domiciled in the department of of Estate Management, Faculty of Environmental sciences, and it is designed to offer knowledge-based and practical training in facilities management for qualified industry-based professionals.
Course contents take into account, the challenges of globalization, IT compliance, and user-led quality requirements in a competitive world.
The course is aimed at enabling the candidates to meet the competence requirements for the International Facility Management Association (IFMA)’s professional accreditation and others, and the proposed Nigerian Facilities Management Board.
The program is designed for working professionals with background in the built environment disciplines.
Lectures Time Table
Lectures are held as follows:
Thursdays: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Fridays: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturdays: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Duration
The MFM program lasts for 18 calender months (3 semesters).
Entry Requirements
The programme is open to candidates with:
- Bachelor’s (honours) degree in Estate Management, Architecture, Building, Quantity Surveying, Surveying & Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy and Material Engineering and other related built environment disciplines from the University of Lagos or any other recognised University; or
- Bachelor’s (honours) degree in any other discipline with valid proof of 3 years ongoing employment in a Facility Management related job in a Facility Management organization or Department.
- Three years’ post qualification experience in respective fields.
- Membership of a relevant professional body – NIA, NIESV, NIOB, NSE, NIQS or its equivalents will be an added advantage.
- Candidates may be required to satisfy the Department in a selection process.

Kindly note that the information I provide here is general. The school is the only one that sets entry requirements for its programmes. In my opinion, it think you have a good chance of being admitted into the MFM programme because of your COREN status and PGD. But you need to visit the Estate Management Department of the school to confirm your eligibility.
